Link III (an island boy with a sister and grandmother) retrieves the Master Sword and reawakens it's power, then reassembles the Triforce of Courage. The Master Sword and it's altar moved to a shrine within the submerged castle. Many islands correspond to the location of former Hyrule landmarks (Forest Haven=Deku Tree in the east, Tower of the Gods=Hyrule Castle in central Hyrule, Spectacle Island=Spectacle Rock in the north, and Dragon Roost Island=Death Mountain, also in the north). The Wind Waker: The Triforce has been divided and Hyrule flooded. The Nightmare Link encounters at one point takes on Ganon's form, which suggests the possibility they are somehow related, perhaps indicating Ganon's lingering presence that allows him to return in subsequent games (as to why he would linger, it could be a result of Twinrova's ritual). The game manual specifically identifies this Link as "the hero from A Link to the Past", thus why both the Link of LA and the Link of the Oracle games must be Link II from ALTTP. Link's Awakening: Link II's boat, seen in the Oracle games, is wrecked in a storm and he washes up on the shore of an island.Link II departs on the boat seen at the start of LA. Ganon is resurrected by Twinrova in a ritual at the end (but defeated again). Oracle of Ages & Oracle of Seasons: the unified Triforce is present at the start of the games. The Master Sword is returned to it's altar, where it is meant to sleep forever. The Sage's Seal is finally broken by Ganon, but he is destroyed by Link II (a Hylian living with his Uncle) and the unified Triforce is returned to Hyrule. The Master Sword is retrieved from a stone altar located very near where it was left in OOT. Hyrule Castle by this point in time has been relocated to central Hyrule (the former site of Lon Lon Ranch) and Kakariko Village has moved away from Death Mountain to be west of the castle (possibly merging with parts of the town found found within the former location of the castle). ALTTP Prologue and backstory formed the basis for OOT, thus establishing their chronological relationship. A Link to the Past: Specifically described as a prequel to LOZ, featuring ancestors of the original characters.
